Opening locked files after transfer to PC

LG V20 phone, Verizon carrier - I used the content lock on some pics in my photo gallery. When I download them to my pc I can't open them. How do I open them on my PC? Also, is there a way to remove the content lock from a file on my android phone? I accidently locked one I didn't mean to lock. If I change the content lock code in the security settings, will that change it for all locked files, or just the ones I lock after the change? Why doesn't android have an option to cancel the content lock code?
 
The files are encrypted once you've locked them.
Transfer back to your phone and unlock them.
 
What steps did you do to content lock them to begin with? Whatever app you used is the only one you can unlock them with.
