Hi,

Is there a way to open embedded PDF Docs / PDF Files in a browser on Android? Here is a link to a demo page:http://blogs.adobe.com/pdfdevjunkie/2007/08/using_the_html_embed_tag_to_di.html

fNone of the following browsers is opening the PDF file, though I have tried all kind of PDF Viewers for Android (PDF Viewer, Beamreader, Adobe PDF, etc) together with the following browsers:
- xScope Lite
- Skyfire
- Steel
- Doplhin
- Opera Mini 5
- Default Android Browser

any ideas? Same goes for embedded power point and word documents

Thanks

I went to that web site and didn't see any PDF documents. I've never heard of PDF being embedded in a page. I don't think that's possible. Maybe you mean the Flash object in the middle of the page?

sorry, just fixed the link. Try it again on your computer. It is an embedded pdf that opens up adobe acrobat reader in your browser. when viewing in android, it doesn't show up at all and there is no way to even download it physically to the phone. so, ideas?

Adobe has a PDF viewer on the market, but I don't think it'd work with these embedded PDFs. A workaround is:

-save the web page to your SD card (can be done w/ Dolphin HD)
-open the saved html document with a text editor (TxtPad Lite is good)
-look through the html for the embed tag with the .pdf
-select and copy the URL for the embed tag
-paste URL into a browser to save the PDF
-open the PDF normally

It's a bit of a pain, but until a browser supports embedded PDF's it may be the only way.

anybody have any idea on any work in progress browsers for android tablets?
i just bought the asus transformer and found out it doesn't open embedded pdf. it's a big problem for me since in our school websites, all out lecture notes are imbedded pdfs, no direct link. it's a little disappointing. i might return the tablet just for this reason.
