Running openvpn and cant figure out why some things don't work...

the default browser dose not work, same with a lot of other browsers, however I have found one that works and that's Firefox.

I still can't get on the google-play market and google maps dose not connect
 
Is your device rooted?

I'm not sure that a VPN app will be able to get enough access to the network stack to work properly on a non-rooted device.

Same problem here. In order to enable VOIP, I route all traffic to VPN. That makes SIP VOIP work. But Google Maps will get stuck on "getting directions" until I drop the VPN. I haven't tried force closing the VPN.
