Opera Mini 6.5.2 - full screen mode not working?

[droidbugz]

This browser is working great on an iPod Touch, however on my new Android phone, on installing Opera Mini, practically the most key feature is missing, that is Full Screen Mode - the bottom bar never hides itself, and in Options there is no full screen option to say yes to.

No-one else seems to be complaining about this - I've searched this & other forums. Are there really so few Android Opera Mini users that no-one else has noticed this bug?

I tried Opera yesterday, and remember a menu item to turn off top bar, which I believe made it full screen (that was important to me too); also says it does it here: http://www.opera.com/mobile/specs/ I uninstalled because I didn't like how it handles mobile pages. Some would pinch zoom, some would not. I'm sticking with Xscope, does everything I need perfectly (menu button toggles full screen mode, and all pages have zoom with excellent text wrapping).

The attraction if Opera is mainly when in 3g or even GPRS mode, on a tight data plan/low bandwidth. I had a look at Xscope's site and just cannot see whether it uses the same proxy caching system, so does it enable extra high compression of images etc. Will the data usage of Xscope be similar to Opera I wonder?
