Help Optimus f7 notification icon

Is there anyway to remove the "no Sim card" notification icon from the notification bar? I'm using my f7 as an mp3 player/ WiFi device so I don't use it as a phone and don't plan on doing so.
 
you're using cyanogenmod, I'm assuming. try long pressing the notification, then hit app info. then disable the notification from there by unchecking the little box. I can't test it right now since I'm running simplicity

I'm also running simplicity. Its the "no simcard" icon. Can't long press it.

you mean the one on the home screen? oh yeah...i don't think you can remove that. I just learned to deal with it. is your phone in airplane mode? it saves battery and I think it removes the notification...

The one next to the WiFi icon.Won't airplane mode turn off WiFi and sync?
