Yeah it should be the same. But I would just like a simple walk-through of the rooting process for this phone. I have jailbroken my iTouch, and I saw how easy that was. I think rooting should have a similiar process, for me and for others wishing to open up their Androids.

Hi All!

I have been closely following this thread lately for a SIM Unlock to pop up, as I would LOVE to use this phone (the Logic) in Canada as I am going back there soon, but would need to find out how.

I figured out that dialing *#35# in the phone app, shows a SIM Unlock menu, or something of that manner, but when you click the only option there, it says the phone is not personalized. After doing a while of research online, I came to the conclusion that the message about not personalized means that is already unlocked (SIM). I have not confirmed this yet, but will tomorrow when I get back to Canada (carrier: Telus Mobility).

Also, getting CM9 to work might be a way around the SIM lock? I guess I would install the LG Optimus L3 version of CM9 nightlies from get.cm?

The phone is SIM looked. It will only work with a ST or Net10 SIM.

So I guess it's that separate chip in the phone itself locking it to those two carriers?

Also, how can I get the Wifi drivers for CM9 and the Optimus Logic to work? And where do I find them?

ST & Net10 are the same. I don't know how to fix cm yet.

Haha. Your welcome. I hope you used your recovery to make sure backup. I've had a chance to update that thread tonight so that it has a bit more instructions. I'm going to to get some up that explain root & maybe a guide of apps & what they do.

Won't work with a att sim tried it! Unless somebody makes a sim unlock like they did for the HTC inspire. I remember having using hack kit to root unlocked the phone to use other Sims.

Has there been any update on this? I'm currently wanting to switch to this phone while I wait out for my AT&T plan to end and have been unable to use my AT&T sim card in this phone due to it being provider locked.

Attempting to input a sim unlock code just brings me to a message that states "The phone is not personalized".

ok did everything it says went through about 3 reboots etc... but phone looks and acts the same...see no app for SuperUser.. also is telling me 'low space' again...did I do something wrong?

ok rebooted again and found SuperUser! YAY! now the low space issue...I read somewhere how to increase it from 150 to 750, anyone know how to do this?

Hi again! Well, it happened. I screwed up the phone royally.

Okay, so let's start at the beginning, my first idiot mistake was that I didn't make a backup/restore image. My next mistake is why I'm here. I wandered into the About menu of this phone and saw the Check for updates option. So, I selected it, saw there was an update for Android 2.3.6, and went ahead and downloaded it to install. Well, everything went fine until reboot. Now I'm stuck in the clockworkmod 5.8.4.5 screen >(
I've tried all the options there, I've read all the posts on area51 and downloaded and tried to install these roms:

AA51
AA51 Modified Stock & Rooted Nandroid - Android Area51

Stock
*updated*Stock ROM with extras - Android Area51

But nada. I've tried the "install zip from sdcard" with AA51.zip but I get this:

Installing AA51.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update....
Installation aborted.

Also, I've tried restoring from both Stock and AA51 folders (non-zipped), they seem to go through all the installations. But when I select the "reboot system now", it shuts off, turns on, shows the LG screen, flashes a white screen, and then ends up back at clockworkmod

I have a feeling that it's still searching for that os update that started this crap, and that's why it won't reboot into the os.

Please, please, please help me!

For the Nandroids if done right I can't see any way a update can be left after it was restored.
