Help Optimus One - wifi doesn't connect

I have a rooted (with original Rom though) Optimus One (P500h).

Out of the blue the wi-fi has stopped working: when I turn it on (from a widget, notification bar or the wifi settings) it tries to connect, fails, and turn itself off after about a minute.

I have made no changes in the phone since the last time it has worked.

Any suggestions, before I do hard reset? I have already, of course, turned off the phone, took the battery out and recharged it to full, and nothing changed. All other functions seem to work (including bluetooth and GPS).

I have cancled (months ago) the mobile internet connection, so I can't check the data connection.

Thanks alot!

I have exactly the same issue. I'll tell you if I ever find the cause or a solution.

EDIT: So it seems that you'd have to flash your ROM (and kernel maybe) again for it to work. I haven't tried it yet though.

Make sure the wifi network you are trying to connect to is running up-to-date security, like wpa2. The Optimus One does NOT support WEP.
