I'll probably just use the excuse that I am buying it for someone else. Can't wait! HSN looks good. But I am just wondering if I'd be able to get it by the time I go on vacation. Also, if I need to return it with Radioshack at least I can just bring it to the store instead of having to pay for shipping to send it back to HSN.

Why would you be able to return something purchased through the HSN to Radio Shack? Am I missing something here?

I was just comparing the two stores. With HSN I'd have to pay for return shipping. And with Radioshack I could simply return it to the store.

Also, what's a better task killer, Advanced Task Killer or Juice Defender?

I used task killers when I first got my android because a friend who has had one for a long time told me I needed one. I then read this, among other articles and have since stopped using them. I can't say that my performance has dropped like people would lead you to believe if you don't use a task killer.

Thanks for that link! I tried Juice Defender on my T-Mobile Comet running 2.2 just today. I liked the fact that everytime I flipped off the screen it turned off the data, but will this really save battery life? I know this gets asked all the time, but what are the best alternatives with the Optimus V?

Really? I hate that. I don't get email or IM updates that way. I have mine set that it keeps wifi on all the time when it can connect to a network. I hate grabbing my phone to look something up or check on something online and having to wait for it to find signal and authenticate.

After using it again today, I did find it a bit bothersome. I know there are a lot, but what are other the best options for the battery? It apparently shipped out today and it seems like it should arrive before my trip!

Could not agree more,i purchased the phone to receive calls and data,not worry about the battery if anyone is that paranoid over the battery, just shut it off at night,Juice defender in my opinion is junk i would not recommend it at all.

Are you sure your battery is ok?

I get pretty good use from a full charge.

Try turning off WiFi and Bluetooth
