Help Option to encrypt storage disappeared

I was just using my phone like normal today at work when all of a sudden the phone began decrypting my SDcard without being prompted to do so. When it was finished, I noticed that the "Device Encryption" section of the "Location and security" settings had been completely removed. Not just greyed out, but gone altogether.

Any ideas?

Yes same thing just happened to me. For me, it was right after the update to 2.3.6. I think that did it. Not sure why they removed it, I really liked this and was a good feature. Does anyone know if this will come back? How I can get it back, etc.

I think the only way you're going to get it back is to downgrade. I had this update yesterday and it's possibly the worst one yet. My battery would last for about 12 hours and now it's lasting about 8 with minimal usage.
