How do I opt-out of ads on my HTC rezound?

Ha, if only it were that easy! Ads are what subsidize the free apps we enjoy. You can opt-out of personalized ads in Google Settings, but you still receive untargeted ads. The only solution to totally banishing ads (or at least the pesky ones that don't subsidize anything… like in Facebook) is to root your phone and then replace or edit the hosts file to route ad addresses to 127.0.0.1, just like in Windows.
