orange sim not working in spain

Hi Folks,
ok i live in Spain and have a spanish Orange sim i have just bought my first android phone off a well known auction site in the uk, an orange samsung galaxy. I put one inside the other and hey presto nothing sim fault.

So what can i do know???? Any help appreciated..Philly

I presume you mean that you bought a UK Orange Samsung Galaxy 'S' ?

Let's assume that the phone actually works...

If it is a brand new unwanted upgrade (or a used one) on UK Orange Network you will find that the phone is SIM locked to Orange UK.

Just because you have a Spanish Orange SIM it does NOT mean it will work on a UK Orange phone.

If you are confident that the phone is OK then try getting it network unlocked first.

If this works (i.e you can make calls) then you can get the data working by manually setting up the APN settings for your Spanish network
