HI

I am having trouble with my new phone. I am oon Orange UK and my signal keeps dropping if i hold it in a certain way or put it in my pocket. SOmetimes it comes back and other times i have to restart my phone for this to restore.

Is anyone else having the same problem. Is it a design problem with the phone or do I have a bad phone.

Any help would be great.
thanks

Hi, I'm on orange and am on my second one x (first one had screen flicker problem) but haven't had any problem with my signal. It is actually better than my HTC desire hd I upgraded from. Sorry couldn't help but maybe it's a phone problem since you have to restart to get your signal back.

The radios on the phone are pretty wonky, it's a common(ish) issue and something I've experienced with both of my handsets. Rather than a full reboot, turning airplane mode on and off has been known to sort too.

Thanks. Would it be worth returning for repair/replace ? Today had been much better. Could be the great British weather

i had slight problems when i had the desire on orange, when they were merging with T mobile. Is that all done now down your way?

Yes its all done now. Some days are better than others so i dont know if its the phone or not. Maybe our crazy weather.

The weather shouldnt really have too much of an effect TBH…. however, 3G signals will breath… ie contract and expand depending on how busy that particular cell is. If it has an adjacent cell, that should expand to help fill the gap left by the one contracting.

Ensure you have the latest SW release (when i first got my HOX the signal was dire, but a lot better after the update).

Ensure that you have 2g/3g auto enabled and on Auto Network search so that you can use the 2g and 3g of TMO and Orange.

Did you cut an old SIM down to a micro sim? If so, get a new proper micro sim. Thats been known to cause issues.
