Orange UK ICS Signal Boost

I just thought I'd draw attention, in here, to an exciting development by alcurtis93, over in XDA, in developing a CWM-flashable Orange UMA Signal Boost app for SGS2s running an ICS-based custom ROM on a Syiah kernel. Note that it only works for UK Orange subscribers. The thread is here

Not having Signal Boost was the only thing tempting me to install a stock Orange ROM. We don't have a strong signal in some rooms and our best friends' house has no signal at all. Thanks to alcurtis93 I can now stick with my Resurrection Remix v1.9.1

Edit: Fails miserably with Andyx Rom. No network at all.

My final verdict . Avoid flashing this AT all. My phone hasnt been right since. Re flashing ROM as we speak.

Which kernel were you using with the AndyX ROM? The alcurtis SB solution works with a Siyah kernel. I am now on DragonICS with the latest Siyah kernel but I've also run it successfully on Resurrection Remix v1.9 using a Siyah kernel. Follow the thread flagged up in the opening post and you will find others reorting on whether it works with other ROM/kernell combinations.

That's fair enough. I was on AndyX myself until about a week ago. I found it impossible to register on the English language section of the Spanish forum so I moved on to Resurrection Remix and am now on DragonICS. I've had problems with the SB application on various versions of the Siyah kernel on both RR and Dragon but now, on Siyah v3.2.6.2+ with XLPW modem on Dragon v2.7.1 all is well. On Dragon v2.7 I did experience an inability to send SMS messages over wifi via SB but now meet with no problem with sending or receiving them and no problem with sending and receiving calls.
