original keyboard

New story today says... no

"4) Prime does not fit in the base / Transformer original keyboard and vice versa. Each with its keyboard."

That sucks. Going to be hard to justify spending $750 for the 64gb version w keyboard...

Well, there's no reason to "justify" $750 for the 64GB version with keyboard dock. Just buy the $650 32GB version with keyboard dock... :)

Seriously, though, the Prime by itself is still $100 less than the equivalent iPad 2. And the dock is an accessory that dramatically increases the utility of the device--extra expansion (which the iPad 2 can't ever support), the longest battery life available, and an integrated experience that beats any Bluetooth keyboard hands-down.

Yes, one can get a netbook or very cheap notebook for less than $650, but then again that's not going to 1) last up to 18 hours on a charge and 2) provide the dual advantages of a notebook and tablet experience. I think ASUS is pricing this thing just fine.

Really, the bigger question will be this: will the release of ICS dramatically increase Android tablet apps? Because if anything makes Android tablets less competitive today than the iPad 2, it's the lack of tablet-optimized apps.

I think this is going to be the year of the android tablet. I read somewhere that amazon is building 5 million Amazon fires (probably for christmas). Asus odered 4 million of the new nvidia processors. And all the other Android Tablet makers thrown in, That's a lot of Tablets. Programmers would be leaving a lot of money on the table by not developing for the android.

I think Asus is giving us a lot for our money. From the Super thin tablet and keyboard, to the new processor, 18 hours of battery life, a metal shell. It just reeks of quality.

I love my transformer but cant wait to get the prime.
