original.mbr

Was running THS ICS on my beloved Fascinate for a while without problems. Had a battery discharge one night. Went to turn on while on charger and was bootlooping, freezing on the android "man" boot animation. I ordered a new battery up and tried turning the phone on. Now the phone would only boot with charger installed. ICS became buggy with random freezes. Progressively it got worse. So, thinking I would be smart I tried going back to stock following the guide on XDA (both odin and Heimdall). Phone will boot with stock but will lock on verizon animation. Sometimes the boot audio will freeze and skip. I can now only get into download and get CWM installed however CWM seems to freeze occasionally navigating. This happens with both stock recovery and all flavors of cwm. I get the E:/ Can't mount /cache/recovery/command , log, and last log. I bought a new SD card thinking that may be the case It appears not to help. My question is will replacing the .mbr be a worthwile next step or is this think just plain borked. I thought momentarily that I had some EMMC issue? I have installed ADB and it appears to see the phone. If the original.mbr would be worthwhile path, does anyone have a VALID link to it. I have searched most of the afternoon for a VALID link to the file. I posted this on android central but got no reply so I am reposting this here.

Thanks!

~Joe
