Help original widgets have disappeared from widget menu

[Android Question]

I have an HTC Desire 510, 4.4. After loading Holo hd, some original widgets have disappeared from phone completely. Have checked Manage Apps and they're there. Specifically: Mobile Data; People (set up in a grid), probably others.

That's normal. Most of the stock widgets won't work on third party launchers like Holo.

Thank you. I hope the new launcher is worth it, as the point was to save space on this horrible phone that has none. Now I'll need to load new widgets. I try to find info beforehand but usually can't.

You won't save storage space with a 3rd party launcher: you have to install an extra app (the launcher), and possible extra widgets if you were using any which only only work with the manufacturer's launcher.

There are other reasons for using alternate launchers (I always do), but saving space isn't an obvious one.
