After 15+ years, we've made a big change: Android Forums is now Early Bird Club. Learn more here.
Nobody knows, or at least nobody outside Google.
Android 4.4 (codenamed KitKat) was released recently. There will probably be minor updates (4.4.x) for a while. Whether the next big one will be 4.5, or 5.0, and whether they will change the name (4.1, 4.2 and 4.3 were all Jelly Bean) is anyone's guess.
Besides which, names and numbers don't matter. What matters is what changes in the new release, and we know even less about that. But actually from the user's point of view the changes between recent releases have not been so large, so in my opinion it's not worth getting too hung up about the OS version.
