Inferior how exactly?
Inferior because it doesn't interfere with FM radios like GSM does.
Inferior due to its superior network coverage compared to GSM in the United States. Until GSM can cover the same amount of landmass with the same levels of network reliability and speed, CDMA will continue to be the dominant cell phone network standard.
It probably isn't GSM at fault for the poor coverage, it probably is the network providers. So technically, it is their (AT&T + T-Mobile) fault.

Why does the americans have to be "CRAZY" because "YOU" don't understand something? hmmmmmm, kinda makes you "CRAZY" don't you think?![]()

What is up with you crazy americans and CDMA? It is clearly inferior to GSM. Is the cost the reason or something else? Is it some kond of a "pride" thing, like not accepting clearly superior SI?
By "you" I actually mean your carriers.
Why switch now?
But... LTE is coming. We have a choice of taking a carrier with the benefits of GSM and getting sub-par service, or taking the hit by going with CDMA and getting a far superior service. At the moment, those are our only two options.But... LTE is coming.
That's true in the US but only due to the lack of GSM towers. If the carriers had started down the GSM road initially like the rest of the world you would not have that issue today.
And having to buy phones when you go abroad.
EDIT: voice and thata, sure. lapsus kalami

I was following you up until this point. Buy a new phone when I go abroad? I'm already in the USA....where else would I go?![]()
Ok, ok, US of A is like a continent, so i quess you dont really travel abroad a lot. It's different here in europe. Still, those that do, cant use their CDMA phone.
#5 on IOWA's list is big. Verizon splits voice and data on two different bands so while you can't use them simultaneously, more bandwidth is available for data. What about GSM? Have you heard about AT&T's bandwidth issues lately?
W-CDMA is superior to both.
