Help OTA update help required

Recently bought a N1 and is still on 2.2.1, with 3 Mobile in UK, been switched on for over a week but no system updates received. What's the crack?
Tried the "checkin" *#*#2432546#*#* but nothing happens.

Should i receive OTA updates from Google or do I need to manually update?

Any advice appreciated

Whats the full current versioning of the phone? Settings..About..

If you bought it second hand or refurbished it might not be stock and thus not getting the official OTA.

Also the correct checkin command is *#*#checkin#*#**#* I think your above is missing a set of #* You will get a "checkin succeeded" message if you do it right.

No, the OP's checkin code has the correct # & * combo.
Have you looked at settings, about phone to see if it says it's up to date. Could be it's a "3uk" version and they are behind with the updates in which case you'll need root etc.

Your versioning looks legitimate as in no custom ROMs so I see no reason why you are not getting OTA updates. If you want to manually update without rooting I think it is just a matter of downloading the update.zip and rebooting into your recovery. There are plenty of threads in the main N1 forum on how to accomplish this. Good luck.
