I rooted my HTC One and installed a GPE ROM. then, I unrooted and relocked the bootloader. Now when I try to install and update, it fails. WHY?!?!?!?!?!?

If you have a custom recovery still then the OTA update won't load.
If you used a ROM Update Utility to return completely to stock then updates should work. In that case it might be better to post in the main forum where we can actually discuss the situation.
