Help OTG wont give power

My phone wont even give power to what ever i connect with it through OTG cable, let alone reading it. I want to play games through my xbox 360 controller. Any solution? I would highly appreciate your help.

Because not all phones support controllers via USB. Controllers take up a lot of power. Usually, you use Bluetooth to connect controllers like the ones for PS4 to Android phones.

Have you tried another OTG cable, also make sure the enable OTG option is checked in the phone's settings, some devices have this, some don't.

I cant find such a setting anywhere on my phone. I have even checked developer options and security.

What phone do you have in the first place?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Core Prime (SM-G360h)

I also connected the usb to another core prime and it didn't even work on that. But it worked on a note 2 I connected it with (same otg cable).

Because the core prime doesn't have usb otg support in the first place. Which means whatever cable you buy, you shouldn't expect it to work. A Note 2 supports usb otg. It's usually a high end phone or mid range to high end tablet feature. The Core Prime was never a high end device to begin with.
