Otterbox Commuter

I just got an otterbox commuter case for my s3 and the lock button doesn't line up right so it takes me about three tires to lock the phone. This happen to anyone else? I should also note that I have an invisishield on the screen.

I have the same case and had a similar issue - as far as I could see, the case's buttons were aligned correctly, but the lock button in particular had no sense of movement or feedback, so it required a very hard press to actuate it, and the only way of knowing that this had been successful was to look at the screen.

I contacted Otterbox via their website, explaining my problem. They responded very quickly and sent me a replacement case. The new one is very significantly better and now the lock button feels more tactile and positive. It's still far less clicky than the phone's button without the case, but I think this has to be expected and I'm now perfectly happy with it.

Whether they've had a bad production batch, or whether they've recently improved the design, I don't know, but I suggest you contact them.

To make the buttons more responsive, pull off a bit of cotton from the end of a q-tip. Then stuff it in the inside of the silicone case where the button is- there's a tiny space. It will make the buttons far more useable.

John_g, I contacted Otterbox after reading your post and had a slightly different experience. I got an e-mail that sounded like they have no idea there is or was a problem with buttons on their case. They wanted me to take 3 photos of the damage on the case. They wanted to know when the damage began to occur on the case. I sent back an e-mail saying I find it hard to believe they are not aware of this problem. This morning I checked my e-mail and found a shipping invoice from Otterbox. Should know soon if they really fixed the problem.
