Has anyone bought and used the latest Otterbox Defender for the HTC One X?

For the life of me I can't figure out the best way to get the device out of the holster. Seriously, it can't be that difficult! Anyone else?

On my Samsung Galaxy Skyrocket and iPhone 4S, the holster is made with a 'lip' that makes it easier to remove the device from it. But, no, not this one for the HTC One X.

Honestly...

Is it the one ATT usually has in stock for it rather than the colorful blue and orange "Official" cases? I paid 50$ for the Otterbox they had, and it is rather a pain to get the plastic piece apart..

Oh sorry, didn't notice the link. Yes, I have that case. I haven't used the holster part, but I messed around with it after reading your post. I found it alot easier if you put the phone in the holster, facing toward it. The back of the phone facing away from the holster. It pops out easier than if you would put the phone in it with the back facing the holster. I'm not sure why that is though..

Thanks. I always put my devices screen in. But, were you using it horizontally, or vertically?
I use it horizontally, and when trying to remove the device, it is almost like ripping the device my hip.

I called customer service, and they said to use it vertically, and thus pull\push from the earphone\top of the device to get it out of the holster...

Well that's kinda what I did. Both horizontally and vertically. Hold onto the holster itself to keep it from that "ripping" feeling, and do the push/pull thing on the phone. It worked better for me when I did that on the top of the phone, then the rest just kinda popped out alright. But maybe mine is made just a tad bit looser, yours might need a lot of breaking in? :)

wow that is one beastly phone case.

Just out of curiosity, does it not ruin the whole, slim phone thing and make it feel worse to hold like that?

Not really. I like to feel like I'm actually holding something in my hand...

I do wish the holster had a better design...

Just got this case. Its pretty sweet and yes I also like the feeling of holding it in my hand better than just the phone.

I agree, because I held the phone just itself without the case, and I do think it is quite hard to get a grip on.. The case give you something to actually hold on to. I don't care much about the "slim phone" craze, as long as it can fit into my pocket :D

I to had a hard time at first but if you'll notice that the 2 lower tabs are a little longer than the tops ones if its sitting horizontally, just use your index and pinky fingers to push down on the longer tabs and pull the phone out with the other 2 fingers while holding it at the top with your thumb... Took me a little getting used to but i can have my phone out of the holster with no problems now.
