Finally the public release !

Great job Shabby and to the others. I'll leave a tip here.

Warning to those who root

We do not have a stock image to recovery from, do not remove apps that might be important.

Now that you are rooted:
Download a WIFI tether app to use your device as a mobile hotspot.
Download Adfree to remove those pesky ads
Download SD - booster and set the kb to 512kb.
Download titanium backup to backup and delete apps, even system apps.
Buy Shabby a coke :p

DO NOT DELETE
- Apps like com.samsung etc. These are important apps and we currently do not know the consequences of deleting, worst of all we don't have a stock image to recovery too in case anything goes wrong.

- Samsung TouchWiz HOME Launcher, delete this and the next time you factory reset your phone, you will not have a launcher to use and thus you will be stuck.

It is possible to return to stock using ClockWorkMod. Use Shabby's Thread to reverse whatever issues that were previously fatal.

please stay on topic, this thread is for recovery and how to root. we dont do roms/kernels for devices we dont have. we leave those to people who actually own the devices.

sorry u just mentioned it before. no screenshot? i guess ill just get the apk for one. and can i overclock with this method of root?

tyvm developers

I know you guys must be excited about a working recovery as it's generally the first stage in getting ROMs for a device, but lets respect Shabby's wishes and stick to talking about the recovery & root please. :)

wipe dalvik cache:
E: unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]
dalvik cache wied.

no such file errors.

backup/restore in CWM do not work, they ended up outputting hundreds of 0byte empty folders :P

yup. i cant do anything about it until i have the stock files

ahh thought it was an unnoticed bug, i might have a way to fix possible bootloops.

rm -rf'd my /system and adb pushed it back now its in a bootloop LOOL

hey i got some ideas for fixing it, let me back in irc.

update: bootloops fixed

Sorry if this seems stupid.. but I just wanted to clarify this. So say if we get the phone rooted successfully, then download the Voltage Control app and up the clock speed, it won't work correctly?

Again just wanted to clarify this:
do you have to have a custom kernel as you stated Shabby, to use even Voltage Control app from the market?

Also about going to 1.4Ghz; The new ZTE Warp Sequent does have the exact same S2 SnapDragon CPU/GPU (as well as 768 RAM) and is clocked at 1.4Ghz (where I'm assuming you know that the Galaxy Rush can go that high?). Would be great to get 1.4Ghz out of this little phone.

Sorry to get off topic,
Thanks for you're knowledge and time

yes with source you should be able to hit 1.5 no problem. unfortunately the only way you are getting that much is via a custom kernel with the frequency table altered.

its root. you can do whatever you want with it.

its only the recovery that is shady IMO. root is just the same as any other phone

Hey guys, you might notice that the link is down and you cant download, thats due to the high volume of traffic i have on my website. 1and1 has locked my account and asked me to upgrade to a server (thats not gunna happen), or find a way to cut down on my average 10TB of bandwidth each day.

As such ill re-upload these files ASAP to a second hosting as soon as i can, in the meantime my apologies for the inconvenience.

 10TB! that's intense...

Quick question Shabby: I followed the instructions to install CWM but when I click start it gets stuck on the setup connection part and fails. My computer doesnt have internet atm, is that the problem? Also, do I need to uncheck everything except auto reboot? Thanks for your help!
