Root [OUDHS] Guide to Rooting your Premia 4G

lmao - no, not drunk, but was up for three days prior.... ;-)

To all in the thread for the efforts. I am now rooted and simply very appreciative to all. Do kindly point me in the right direction for the next steps.

I have a backup prior to rooting, now I need a ROM? Or should I do a rooted backup as well? My thinking from back in my IT days is, backup, backup, backup, then backup! Lol.

You're correct. Make a backup with recovery as the phone sits, with root (IMPORTANT). That way you have a stock rooted backup file in case you brick. This recovery we have makes enormous sized backup files, so make sure you have at least 1GB free on your EXTERNAL card before creating backup image. And, ALWAYS select backup to external SDcard, and restore from external SDcard while in recovery; don't backup to internal space!

Have fun!

this isnt the framaroot thread..and why should someone have to go looking for it when there is a thread and download for this phone specifically?
please show some respect to the op.

I meant no disrespect. I just know that frama is the easiest root without the possible headaches of pc based root.

I should also point out that you don't have to search for anything. I already linked in a thread on here.. clearly labeled as EASIEST ROOT EVER.

framaroot is known to make phones lose root if usb debugging is disabled, as well as making phones unrootable if unrooted, and from what I understand, it's assumed that it does something to the phone which corrupts or changes something internally which is unchangeable...

I've unrooted and rerooted without issue using the latest version.

There was an issue with the superuser app but they removed that and supersu works just fine.

Though, I've never unchecked usb debugging (why would i?) So I don't know about that.

Unrooted to get the screen replaced and it rerooted without issue.

whoa guys, cmon. there is/was no disrespect taken on my behalf, this is a simple one click script makes it easy for some people, some people prefer using cydia impactor, some people its easier to use framaroot, at the end of the day so long as the exploit works then it doesnt matter much. what does matter is we all came together on this forum and get to enjoy things most consumers dont get.

Hi shabby! I'll be by upp later, got some of my old devices out of the corner of my closet, gonna play with them tonight.

I checked the devices listed in the thread. I have a huawei, but did not see my specific device listed. Would this work for me anyway?

It works on the premia. I don't post stuff I don't test. I even posted in the xda thread to let them know that it works.
Does not work on Huawei valiant, lg L9 or lg f6.

I know my cell phone needs to be rooted and all this is way over my head. If it could be done for me I give you the OK******* I know it could only do good for my cell phone. Avast mobile security and anti-theft has let me get mine back 2x.
