Hello everyone, I hope that someone can help me, I'm getting a out of space pop-up message when trying to install a new app, but my settings shows that I have plenty of space free on my internal and external memory! Any help would be appreciated! Thanks :banghead:

You are probably running out of space in the partition that stores your apps. It's usually a different partition then the available memory you can see.
Try moving a few apps to your sd card and see if you have some luck. Otherwise you may have to un-install some apps.

Ok I've tried moving apps to sd and deleting large apps to see if it helps, Im still getting the same pop-up message!

Delete all your text messages and call logs especially if you have a lot of texts.

also check to see if you have an app called My Metro.

If you do go to Settings>applications>manage applications>all 'tab'>find My metro app and select it and clear data. For some reason that app will continue to eat you memory until you have non.

If you're rooted, remove that app. You might get a FC just reboot your phone and all is good.

If you don't have that app then follow my same steps to clear app data. yes you can lose data. Also you can clear Cache.

Otherwise follow Shinys steps too.

Hope this helps.

What app are you trying to install? Some apps are extremely large.
Apps can now be as large as 4GB.

I was reading along time ago that if u uninstall market updates you will be able to download and install the app its saying you have no room for when u actually do have the room. That was before it became google play. I would search a bit before uninstalling the updates. You can get it back it just takes awhile sometimes to auto update..

@ shiney, I clean text and call log weekly, @ AEre no metro apps at all! @sdraw I was trying to reinstall power amp, 3.25 mb! @ racinmason I also read about unistalling market updates when I had my optimus, I will try this and see what happens, thanks guys I will report back!

An old trick we used to use on the incredible, was try removing the SD card and then attempt the install. I also believe there is a now a way to download the actual apk file to your PC, then you copy the file to your phone and install.

hard to tell w/o more specific info.

try and think of all your backup apps (+ any apk / app managers, tweakers, protectors, installers, updaters, security apps, etc. that will backup apps before modifying, maybe even preserve older versions of apps for rollback purposes) n all your browsers.

In the settings for EACH see if downloads, backups, cache, data, etc. can be changed from Internal to _ExternalSD location.
Then follow up by clearing & deleting any unwanted stuff still left behind(if).
