Help Outbound Call Problem

Ive had my G2 for a little over a year now, and all of a sudden I am having problems when making outbound calls. The problem I am having seems to only occur (or as far as I can tell) when making calls to land line phones. When making a call, the phone rings as normal, when the person I'm calling picks up, they say either they cant hear me, breaking up badly, or I sound really far away. After I hang up and call them back... everything is fine, even without rebooting, or if they call me, everything is fine.

It is very strange and difficult to track down the problem since it seems so random. I'm rooted, but did a factory reset last week and it is still happening with only stock apps installed. I don't make many calls to land lines, so I'm not sure when it started.

Any help or similar problems troubleshooting would be a big help. I don't think it's the mic going bad, since I can call back two seconds later and can be heard fine... but who knows.

Who is your carrier, and how is your signal strength when making these calls? Are you making them all from roughly the same location, or does it happen when you're out and about as well?

damn, sorry... forgot to mention Im on Verizon.
Signal strength typically 3bars or higher. Happens when Im at home, out of town, and when just out and about.
I was thinking about it more today and remembered that a few months ago I enabled Advanced Calling (Verizon's VOLTE) ... Ill try disabling it and see if that is possibly the culprit.
