Help Outlook Email Sync Problems

Hi, I am having trouble getting my school email and calendar to sync with my phone. The school email is run through Outlook 2010, so I go to www.outlook.com and log in to it my email there. When I type in all of the info into the default mail client in my phone(email, login, password, server), it seems to authenticate--but when I try to click finish setup, it says "failed to create the account, please try again later"

To work around this, I decided to simply forward my school emails to a g-mail account, and that works ok to get my emails--although I am still confused on how to sync my outlook calendar to the phone, because that still will not work. I cannot DL apps to sync like Google Calendar Sync or MyPhoneExplorer because I am on a mac and don't actually run the outlook 2010 program on my computer, I simply go to the website and log in there.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to make this work--either getting outlook to actually work correctly on my phone or at least getting my outlook calendar to sync up with my phone/my g-mail account. Any input would be appreciated!

I would talk to your school's IT Dept and see if you can get the account info. You need the the correct email address, server address, domain, username and password. A little more info is required than just when logging into the web interface. and make sure to ask if an encrypted ssl is required.

And also...are you setting it up as an "Exchange ActiveSync" account?

It sounds like you may have already tried that but it also sounds like its missing a bit of info in order to create the account.

Thanks for the reply--I have contacted the IT department and have the correct server information. They gave me a number of possibilities that sometimes work, and none have worked for me thus far. And Yes, I am setting it up as an ActiveSync account. Is there another way to set it up for it to work?
