Outlook

Just bought a new Galaxy 2 II - and now substantial difficulties to synchronise Outlook whcih was very easy with Nokia phones:mad:

Hi parmenides and welcome to AF!

Unfortunately Outlook and Android don't sync directly, you can download your Outlook contacts but you can't sync new contacts back to Outlook without a third party app. Not sure who's camp the blame falls but it is an unfortunate fact.

That said, I learned very quickly to deal with it, your contacts will sync with GMail, from there you can export your contacts to your computer as a comma separated file and import into Outlook.

Welcome to Android Forums! :)

Desktop outlook clients were never intended to be a point of synchronization, although even Microsoft has utilities to do that with earlier versions of their mobile OS. You need to have your email account on an exchange server to sync directly, or you can link your outlook account to gmail and sync that way.
