Over clocking CPU cause high temperature?

Hi!
There are some android app for adjust CPU frequency for better performances. According to my knowledge over locking, CPU side effect is generate higher temperature. So its not good for phone/tablet hardware health. Also CPU is the main hardware that generate 90% of temperature. So overclocking CPU is good thing? or am i incorrect?

You are correct that overclocking = more heat (and faster battery discharge). However, very few people overclock 100% of the time. The same s/w that allows overclocking on rooted devices (e.g., SetCPU) also allows you to set profiles for underclocking. This is only one of several techniques available. HTH!

FWIW, my OG Droid was OC'd from 550mHz to 1.2gHz for over a year and a half with no problems. SetCPU, a popular app to control your processor speed has a built in temperature reading. The few times mine ran way above 100 degrees F was when it was in the car dock, in the summer with navigation running.
