Root Overclocking Huawei Premia 4G

Have any of you overclocked your phones yet? Are you planning to? If you did, what's the best app to use and do you have any suggestions or tips? Thanks in advance.

Overclocking usually requires a custom kernel. We *just* got root, and we don't even have CWM yet. I would like overclocking capability too, but I wouldn't expect it for a while.

You can use SetCPU on the Premia to set the min and max values, as well as change the governor. No OC yet though.

Thanks for the info. I know it must vary a lot, but when do CWM usually come out for brand new phones, it looks like root was exploited within 1 month for this model. I guess it also depends on the popularity of the phone and it looks like not a lot of ppl have this model.

I'm not sure when we'll get anything, but you're right; it probably depends on the popularity of the phone (hence why root was accomplished by the Official Unloved Device Hit Squad). The premia seems to be unpopular because of the upcoming MetroPCS - TMobile merger.

ShabbyPenguin mentioned he was working on CWM, but couldn't promise anything. I recommend you just check the All Things Root forum once a week.

Yea, most definitely. At least I have this model to experiment/tinker with without having to worry about if I screw it up somehow. Thanks again elk1007 for ur help with the rooting, you made my first experience ever with a smartphone a breeze! Who knows though, it's only been a month. :D

Glad to help you out :)

You should really thank ShabbyPenguin, though! He's the one that rooted my phone, I was just the test subject.

Just to let you guys know we have root and recovery now, thanks again to the OUDHTS (did I spell that right? xD) team.

Recovery has a few issues, like screen shifting sideways when pressing the volume up and volume down buttons to scroll through the menus, a lot of it seems cosmetic.

Wait..

I didn't root. I'm innocent. INNOCENT! *hides*
