Root overclocking issues

So I'm running bugless beast and just a question regarding overclocking.

If I switch the overclock from 800 to 550 back, I mean constntly switching it, willl it adversley affect my phone?

I can't think of any downside (or reason to do so). SetCPU has profiles that change the speed automatically for certain situations (low battery, charging, sleep/standby, failsafe).
