Root overclocking_ I/O sheduler/scaling

planning on making this a thread for beginners who've never overclocked or chose to choose an i/o sheduler, (perhaps also to possibly show what you can do with our devices compared to more mainstream devices) and show some results with various scaling modules, frankly i dont know too much about it either. i'll be adding different info/results to this post, if anyone want's to throw in some input on their experiances feel free.

everyone should probably thank k0nane and others who without - this probably wouldn't have been possible for an extremely long time, if not ever. if you haven't already that is.

For you more experienced users, be sure to try BFQv2 for IO scheduling, and the latest smartass for CPU governor. See what you think of both. Run benchmarks, try them in daily use.

apparently i'm not that advanced...how the f**k do i apply BFQ to our phone? do i use script manager or do i do it through the terminal?

Im curious about io scheduling. I know quadrant is useless but writing a file in that bench takes forever any ideas

i'm not sure the only schedulers i have access to are (noop, anticipatory, deadline, cfq) i haven't taken it off noop yet. Then again i'm only using antutu cpu master free v2.2.

i'm planning on not paying my bill for a few days just so i can have some time to get a few baseline results without having to keep answering my phone. For instance if i just turn on my phone, do anything with it except browse the internet, or make a phone call, when i go to lock my phone/turn off screen my cpu will lock at 0-1% which is what i want when i lock my phone.
But after i make 1 phone call, or answer a call, i go to lock my screen and i will not be able to get the cpu usage back to 0 or 1, it'll stay at 15-30%. I will not be able to get it back to 0-1 unless i reboot. it's kind of a big deal too, because if i have the cpu locked at 0-1 when the screens off, and just run little apps here and there, even when i run the browser or marketplace for that matter under wifi the phone will stay on for atleast 24hr.

But as soon as i make a call or use the service, doesn't matter if it's 4g or 1x the usage goes up and i cant bring it back down. After that it'll last a total of about 6-8hrs. sometimes 4 if im not paying attention and forget to kill every process possible.

p.s dont start sentences with but all the time

I'm using No-frills CPU Control and it does exactly what it claims to do and no more. Very small footprint and gives me the control I need.

I didn't see any benefit to SetCPU and found it to be quite large.
