factory reset killed the issue. CPU was stuck at 97%. just to let ya know that worked for me.

Going to guess you had an app that was killing the cpu. I've had wife remove All apps and install them back from play store to fix this issue. Sometimes apps don't update well.

forgot about this post....this phone started lagging hardcore while typing and still got hot. i returned it for a new phone. no more lagging but still very hot and cpu hog. i made a new thread about it. thx for the reply!
