Overkill is on the Market!

Hi guys,

Finally I’m here to announce that the full version of Overkill is available on the Android market
I you have participated in beta testing, skip to the bottom for the QR code. If you haven’t, let me introduce the game:

Overkill is a side-scrolling shooter with hordes of enemies, upgradeable weapons and non-stop action. We love old-school shoot’em’ups like Jets’n’Guns or R-Type, we didn’t find anything really good on the market, so we decided to make our own :) If you love shoot’em’ups and action games in general, you should definitely try this one.

Support:
I'll be here to answer your questions related to the game. If you run into bugs or experience other problems, feel free to PM me, and I'll do my best to help you ASAP. I've also set up a game forum which is a faster way to communicate with us. Of course you can always use the support e-mail on the game details page on the Market.

This and the beta:
Key differences between the full version and the public beta:
- 2x more levels
- Survival mode
- Improved help page accessible from gameplay
- Better controls, sensitivity adjustment
- Various gameplay improvements (powerups, enemy AI, etc)
- Better briefings
- Lots of bugs fixed

Special thanks to:
c4v3man, Rankith, Ducky1974, merg, ogrenator, chaz_uk, mrmojoz, birthofahero, Josh2, tmaxey1, Quig, Coppanuva, Weazol, mcarag, Lekky, mattdanielc, azrhei, Tom from Hyperbees, and others for excellent feedback and support!

To beta-testers: the introduction of licensing has made it a bit more difficult to issue a free copy, but there are at least 2 ways: either send me your device account name, and I'll add it to the 'white list' on our side, or send me the name you used with the credit card, and I will issue a refund after you buy the game. Or at least give me your PayPal so that I can buy you a beer. Still working on better options though.

Wow, that's a long post  Hope you enjoy the game. If you like it, please rate and comment on the Market. Meanwhile, we will be working on the first update which will add a few cool features to this game ;)

Just one quick update. After 5 or 6 levels I received a text message. My text program (handcent) gives a pop-up overlay, I click on the open field then used the slide out keyboard to type my message. I hit send then returned to the game. It gave me a quick loading screen then returned me back where I was. My controls at that point were all wonky.

I assume what happened was during that quick loading screen it was recalibrating the accelerometer. No big deal, I just recalibrate the sensor to fix it. I just wanted to let you know it may become an issue for someone else. Thanks.

For whatever it is worth, having run through the beta, the game is definitely worth the money. Just remember you have unlimited ammo on missiles (cooldown system) so hit them as often as possible. Much carnage and fun especially in the later levels when you start hitting max upgrades on weapons. 5/5 star game

hey guys

Bought the game - absolutely love it. I was a beta tester, but I don't want a free copy - happy to support you guys :)

Great game!

The lite version is now on the market, includes 7 levels (5 campaign, 2 bonus) from the full game, you are welcome to try it :)

Thank you and everyone else who rated the game on the market, this is what motivates us to keep working on it :)

Yup :) Also, both versions are being updated tonight, and I'd like to let you know that there are a few notable changes like improved trackball controls. I completed the game on Hard today without touching the screen once (shaking the phone to enable shield), so if you are not a fan of default tilt and on-screen controls you have a better alternative now. Other changes are mostly fixes and minor updates, you can find the full change log here.
