Help Own phone number

I just ported my old phone number to a new provider. However when I check my phone number in Settings - status, it shows the original sim card number from before I ported my old one.
Any way of changing it back to my current number?

Give it a day or two - the number shown in /Status is actually dependent on what the network returns, and that's based on the device IEMI. Thus there's always a lag until the system updates/refreshes.

Sometimes switching the handset off/on can speed things up, but if it's still showing the old "temporary" number this time tomorrow give the network a call (the Ports & Migrations Dept is probably best) and they should be able to push it through.

Mine has never shown as my number, still showing as the old number before I ported mine to the sim. Not that it matters to me personally, people still can contact me ok.

This is a carrier dependent issue, with each carrier being unique.

Here in the USA I'm using AT&T as well as T-Mobile. Recently I had the need to have my phone number changed by AT&T. One phone call was all it took. No change of sim required.

Once they issued the new number, they called my phone to confirm the change, immediately the new number appeared in Android settings. Very impressive.

Ask o2 to do a full account and network refresh.

Had a similar issue with Tmobile (EE) and my number showing as 00000000000
