Hi guys , how often do you have to charge your Galaxy Tablet (P6200)? I have theproblem of charging it twice a day (just an hour of games or texting). Its even is Bnew. I know, you might say that it could be active apps that kills my batt life. But the thing is, even on stan-by, it will die on me after a day.

Since it's new (I'm guessing) and you probably don't have too much on it, do a factory reset and don't reisntall too many apps. See if that fixes it. If not, it sounds defective and I'd return it for a new one.

BTW, they dropped to $299 this week at best buy, so if you bought it there, go back and get some money back. If you didn't buy it there, return it and go buy one at Best Buy.

I get about (5) hours of wi-fi web browsing on mine, with the largest, by far, battery draw being the screen. Not much difference while on AT&T nor T-Mo 3G. This with the screen brightness set with the center of the brightness dot right around the "tt" in the word "Settings" in the status panel, just below the slider.

I found the same thing on mine, in standby or sleep mode, when wifi on, all push mail on, it drain about 50% for 12 hours, without even touch the tab, when check the battery used, it shows, android OS use the most battery about 80%, is it normal or some bug in it? anyone can help? I am on Honeycomb 3.2, latest verison from Samsung.

Huh, I was about to call Samsung as I only pick it up every other day.. and it's dead in 3 days. I've flashed all the fixes.. And factory reset twice. Now, I'm used to a Acer tablet doing that.. but my 10.1 lasts for weeks without touching it, so I assumed this 7 plus is defective.

The original firmware come with this tab plus is defective, I think. when wifi on all yahoo push mail and viber service is running on background, it drains 50% of battery in 10 hours sleep mode. after flash the new firmware, same wifi on and push mail, viber, it drains 20% of battery in 10 hours sleep mode, even it is better, but I think this still defective, it should drains less than 10% of battery in 10 hours sleep mode!

consider it is 4,000 mAh, 20% of it should be 800 mAh, it is half of all small screen smartphone's battery, this means smaller screen smartphone in sleep mode, when wifi on and push mail and viber service running, it might consume 50% of the battery in 10 hours, that is bad, it is still defective.

Samsung should look at this and find out what is going on! Hope upgrade to Ice Cream
Sandwich will solve this problem.

I bought a 7.7 for a friend and he tells me that his tablet can last 2 - 3 days on standby

My tab plus can last 5 - 6 hours while on 3G; 8 - 9 hours on wifi (and standby)

I get 8-9 hrs of heavy usage on wifi on my tab plus and havent went on my 4g all day in a while but I know it was over 6 hrs pf heavy usage.

I'm having battery trouble too, got the latest updates and very few apps, regularly use a task killer, brightness set to minimum and wifi and 3g both off....yet the battery disappears quickly, even in standby. 10 mins playing a game = 25% battery loss! What's the point of having such an expensive gadget if we can't even use it?!

Very frustrating, am considering sending mine back.

I turn wi-fi off every time I set it down now, and without the screen or wifi (I dont have 3g on it) it doesn't go down much at all, maybe 1% in 10 hours. I often do that when I sleep and it doesnt go down at all.

But if I keep wifi on, it goes down about 5% an hour even when not in use.

I had mine in my briefcase for the past 2 and a half days with the wifi off, it was at 88%, today it is at 85%; so it could be an app issue with some people.

I only charge my Tab 2-3 times a week, but I only have my WiFi on when I'm at home. When I am connected to my home WiFi network, I get about 5-6 hours of heavy use (web surfing, email, Netflix streaming, gaming, reading e-books/emails/Pulse Reader at full brightness).

If I need to conserve my battery for an extended period of time, I set the screen brightness to "auto" for a significant boost in battery life.

I own the 7 plus. According to Engadget, the 7 plus will last 8:09 hrs while the tab 2 7 will last 7:38 hrs. I find this strange. Both have same size battery and the tab 2 has a less powerful processor. Does anybody know why the battery life would be less with the tab 2? Is it because of ICS?
