Package File Invalid problem

I just recently tried to download the Facebook Messenger app but I got the typical "Package File Invalid" Error. Normally this is annoying at most but this time the size of the app is taken out of my system memory. I'm unsure as to what to do to fix this aside from a factory reset which I'd rather not do since I don't want to lose the data I have on my other apps. Is there a way I can fix this aside from factory reset? Also my phone is an LG Optimus Dynamic if that helps in anyway, my Android version is Gingerbread 2.3.6.

From what service where you downloading it? Play Store?

Did you try downloading it again to see if it was corrected?
