Help Package file is invalid ?!?

I've heard that clearing the cache/data on Google Services Framework can work sometimes, have you tried that?

Thankfully, I've not had it on any of my devices yet. Are you getting it for all app installs/updates or just a few?

I tried that. Didn't work in my case. It does it on both new installs of apps and on app updates.

I have not tried the reboot. I did shut my phone off last night, so I'll try later today.

At least I know it is a Google issue and they are working on it and not my phone.

EDIT: Actually it was Google Play Services I tried it on. I'll have to try the Framework later to see if it works.

I just tried updating an app and installing a new app. Both worked fine. The only thing different (other than the Google Play Services cache/data clear I did yesterday) is I shut my phone off last night and back on this morning. So don't know if that fixed it or if Google did something on their end.

You don't have any Virgin Mobile data? Because currently I could currently do updates and installs with 3g/4g. If I used Wifi, I got a "package file is invalid" error.

Yes, I have 3G access. But I am usually where there is WIFI so I use it. I only use the 3G when I am in the car. There is no 4G in my area and WIFI is faster than the 3G. Also, 3G drains the battery faster than anything. So I keep 3G and WIFI always off and turn them only when needed.

had this as well.. Mine went away, after I cleared cache and data in play store and framework, and then added a second user account.. After that, a reboot, then cleared play store again.. and everything was working.. All my apps have updated.. not tried to add anything since then..

I see this error every now and then. I think it happens when my phone is in the middle of updating (via wi-fi) and I switch locations. Hasn't really been an issue. Basically I restart the update and things work fine.
