Painted my Samsung S5 & Samsung Ultra Notebook to match

Well, I wanted something different from everyone else, so I painted my Samsung Galaxy S5 and my Samsung Ultrabook 13" Series 5 Notebook Cherry Red Metalflake to match! I was tired of the dull silver/black combo Samsung and other makers notebooks/phones have the past few years, plus the metalflake finish is semi-rough, so it doesn't slip out of your hands... so it serves a purpose too.

I'm not a novice, I've painted notebooks before:

I went into AT&T at the Mall today and drew a crowd with the employees when they saw my phone. They all loved it. Nice when you have something no one else has. :thumb:

The reason I went in was to ask if they had any solutions to the usb cover that won't stay on. As usual, Samsung is ignoring this defect and as a result, I will be buying the LG 6" Curve next time around.

Been a couple months now... Got lots of great comments where ever I go with the notebook and cell.
The rough metalflake finish is great as it is nowhere as slippery as they were before.

What brand/type of paint did you use? Prep work?

Actually this was one of the easier ones I did. Did NOT have to mask anything!
The others I did was some painstaking, time consuming masking.
First I got this: (9 colors to choose from)
iPearl mCover Hard Shell Case for New 13.3" Samsung Series 5 NP540U3C Ultrabook laptop (Red)

I didn't like the clear red look on it so I figured I'd paint it the color I wanted, Cherry Metalflake Red.
First, I roughed it up with 2,000 grit sandpaper.
Wiped clean with alcohol.
*Normally I would paint some kind of primer before the main paint, but I didn't need to being the cover was new and per Krylon instructions.*
Then sprayed 10 coats of krylon Glitter Blast Cherry Red Metalflake, 10 minutes apart.
Then sprayed 10 coats of Krylon Glitter Blast Clear Sealer, 10 minutes apart.
While applying Krylon Glitter Blast Clear Sealer is not required, a few coats of it will make the surface smooth.
Let dry for 24 hours and it's ready for daily use!

This notebook gets attention where ever I go. I mean most all notebooks are either silver or black or silver/black combo. How DULL! I also painted my Samsung Galaxy S5 the same way (except only 2 coats of clear as I wanted the surface to be rough as not to be slippery... works great!) as the back cover comes off and not need to mask there either.
