Pair BT KEyboard with Android 4.2.2 tablet?

I have a nook HD+ booted to CynogenMod 4.2.2. Works great but I wanted to use a BT keyboard. It pairs with the keyboard but won't recognize it as a HID. Is this do-able or did I wasted my money on the BT keyboard?
