Pairing with Computer

I have tried to pair my Razr Maxx with my Windows 7 computer and can't figure out how to do it. On two attempts the computer told me to enter a number on the phone but there was no way to get to the keyboard before it timed out and then I found I couldn't get to a keyboard anyway. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Assuming Win7? Put the phone is Bluetooth discovery mode, let the PC search. Win7 will show a code, but the phone just confirms that you want to connect. Can't help you with the FruitOS.

I get the phone to pair with the code I use but then it tells me I need peripheral device driver and the computer can't find it. I am using a Dell Inspiron E1705.
