Help Pandora on Epic 4G

Groovehog

Newbie
There is a huge thread on the EVO 4g forum about a multitude of problems related to streaming Pandora on the EVO through 3g/4g. Problems ranging from songs skipping midway through to Pandora not loading at all. I have an EVO and I cannot get consistant performance with Pandora while I drive. I have no idea what the problem is (Pandora itself, EVO, network, or 4g vs 3g) so I'm here asking the Epic 4g users this question:

How is the performance of Pandora Radio on the Epic in the car while driving around town? Any skipping or stuttering problems? Thanks.

Pandora worked fine on 2.1. I've installed it on the official 2.2 firmware, but I haven't actually used Pandora since I updated.

I have not updated Pandora in a while due to some known issues. Though I don't have the phone in front of me to see which version I have.

I commute on the bus and train for about 40 minutes each way every day, and I have Pandora on the whole time. Only time it ever cuts out at all for me is when the train goes into the underground stations and the network is unavailable.

EDIT: I should mention that I'm on the EB13 Froyo build, which I installed using the update.zip method, not the executable installer.

Try removing the proxy settings off the data radio. On the dialer do this:

Get your MSL code first then
##data#
Edit
Others
Multimedia

Then change all proxy addresses to: 0.0.0.0 and the proxy ports to 0. Back out of the menus and reboot the phone.

Let me know how it goes.

If you wouldn't mind, please let us all know how it goes. That sounds like a cool suggestion.

I've only experienced problems on Froyo when I changed the setting to high quality, but I tend not to do that when passing through, say, tunnels. At work, where I need Pandora most often, high quality works utterly swell, Mr. Daddy-O.

Then again, I live in NYC, where coverage is known to be decent. What about you, OP?

I use it everyday while doing deliveries at work and it never skips or fails on my phone. I'm on Froyo EB13. It only cuts out when I have no service like up in the catskill mountains in upstate New York. Now if ONLY i can get shoutcast on winamp to work as well, I'll be a very happy camper!!
