Panini Collectors App

awood2000

Lurker
Does anyone know if it's possible to copy my Panini Collectors app data to another phone?

It's a great app allowing to keep track of the Panini stickers you have for the Brazil 2014 sticker album by getting you to scan/take a picture of each sticker you purchase.

I've just upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy S3 to an S5 and wanted to copy across all the sticker scans I have done but can't seem to find any data file anywhere.

There wasn't an option to move the app onto a SD card which I was hoping might have worked.

I really don't fancy scanning in the 500+ I have in the Brazil 2014 album plus the 300+ swaps I have.

Thanks

If your device is rooted, could try Titanium backup or Helium if it isn't rooted. Failing that email the app devs and see what they have to say about moving their app's database from one device to another. This is something that users might want to do, so they should have provision for it

I managed to get my Panini Collectors app data across to my new phone!

Steps I followed:
1. Installed "Helium - App Sync and Backup" app via Play Store

2. Installed Carbon Desktop (old name for Helium) onto my PC http://download.clockworkmod.com/carbon/CarbonSetup.msi
(This step is not needed if you have a rooted phone)

View the video on Play Store for Helium if you need any help.
You need to connect the phone to the PC before being able to use the backup feature of the app.

Note: Norton Anti Virus didn't like the link posted on the Play Store so I used the above.

3. Via Helium Backup select Panini Collectors app and "App Data Only" then select "Backup"

4. It prompts where you wish to save the files too. I selected Dropbox but other options like Google Drive, SD card are available.

5. This created 3 files for me on Dropbox under Apps\ClockworkMod Carbon:
com.panini.collectors.ab (App Data File in SQL Lite format I believe)
com.panini.collectors.json
com.panini.collectors.png (App Icon)

6. On my new phone I installed Helium and Helium (Premium) needed for restore function.

7. I ran Helium on my new phone (connected to PC when prompted) and from the "Restore and Sync" tab on the phone app selected Cloud Storage and then Dropbox. This then showed me the files which Helium had copied from my old phone to Dropbox. I selected "Panini Collectors" and then "Restore"

8. Started Panini Collectors app on my new phone and all my Got, Need and Swap List details are shown correctly!

Note:
As I couldn't find these 3 files Helium backed up for me on the Android file system anywhere. I had to use the Helium (Premium) which isn't free to restore.

I rather hope if you can work out where these files need to be copied to you could do it for free.

Please post if you find the location of the following files:
com.panini.collectors.ab
com.panini.collectors.json
com.panini.collectors.png

I tried ES File Explorer with "Show hidden files - On" but that didn't find them. Maybe these are visible on a rooted phone.

Thanks
