Pantech Sky Vega issues with SMS

Having some issues.. it runs 2.2.1
now my only issue is, texting.

When i go to text every single time it asks me to insert a "from" number as well as the "to" number.
and after typing 20 letters it turns into an MMS and i cant send the SMS.

I tried messing around with it, and i noticed that i dont know the USIM pin code,
i bought this second hand off of a friend.

I hope someone can help me, thanks!

(oh and yes i researched for the last 3 days on the pincode reset and etc etc, but noone has this phone, go figure.. Personal opinion it actually runs really well except i cant get rid of all that korean crap that i dont understand.)

i tried ChompSMS, and it just keeps "sending failed" ,
i cant set it as my default on this crappy phone it wont give me the option.

those are my 2 problems lol.

an sms max of 80characters,
and having to put my number in the "from" section before sending a text.


- if i dont put the number in, for example i put a different number in, there replies go there. if i put in just a random number, there texts wont send -.-

i hope this can help, please follow the procedure:

What you need:
*the sim card you are using with this phone
*another phone that has "my number" or "own number" menu

Here's what you need to do:
*insert the sim card to another phone with "my number" / "own number" menu
(mostly, samsung, blackberry, sony phones have this, the menu that allows you to edit your "my number" / "own number")
*go to that menu and edit the "my number" / "own number"- use the number assigned to your simcard (meaning you cel #)
*then hit save
*insert the simcard to sky vega phone..

now it works perfectly


for the sms turning into mms,

you can now use chomp sms again, or handcent, go sms pro, etc. as they have 160/1

sky vega phone is a korean phone so they are actually limited to 80 bytes, but if u use the apps mentioned above, there'll be no problem
