Root Paragon 6?

I've been using Cognition (which I liked), but tried Serendipity today hoping for better battery life. So far so good. I saw a number of posts about using Paragon 6 kernel with Serendipity, what's the benefit? What kernel comes with Serendipity and are they as easy to change?

i just flashed serendipity 6.3 about 4 days ago myself. it comes with the hardcore speedmod kernel i believe. and i was also please with serendipity's battery life+performance. the only slight lag i had was in my messaging app, which i used most often for texting obviously.

but i flashed the Paragon 6 kernel last night actually, and i like it alot. i couldnt tell you how the 2 kernels compare and contrast, still fairly new with flashing roms, and android OS in general, but i now have no lagg in my messaging, and alot of other small laggy areas now seem polished up as well.

I tried the paragon kernel and from what I can tell, the phone is faster and if benchmarks mean anything to you, the paragon kernel performed better as well. However, I did notice a large cut-back in terms of battery life, even on idle with nothing running.

The battery life is a deal breaker for me. It's the reason why I tried Serendipity, because of the supposed better battery life.

dont get me wrong, the battery life is still better than stock 2.1 with paragon. Not sure how it compares to stock 2.2 as I never got it. Its just that the speedmod kernel had a better battery life compared to paragon. If I remember correctly, I noticed maybe a half day to 1 day battery life difference. But then again, it really depends on the user and what they do on their phones.
