Parental control on Android 7.1

Simply: is the parental control on the play store a joke? You just go to the setting -> app, find the Google play store app, clear the cache and data and parental control is turned off without having had to give your parental control password. No security hole exploit, just use the options that are there. Or maybe I miss the obvious (but even in this case, I would guess I am not the only one). So simply what is this parental control about?!

yeah just having play store parental controls is fairly easy to bypass. if the kid is that tech savvy then i would setup a child account and restrict it that way or you can try any number of parental control apps that are on the market.

If all you're doing is enabling it in your Settings menu, than yes it's not very effective at all. But that's not how it should be set up, you should have a separate, restricted access account for just the kids. You use your account with full privileges, that kids account only gets access to what you allow them to.
