Help Partially downloaded Update

I have an unrooted Samsung Galaxy Ace. I tried to download an update for Where's My Water. The update was about 30Mb and I had about 40 Mb of internal storage and about 3 Gb open on the SD card. I thought I would download it and it would go to my SD card as that is where the game is. But when I downloaded it the update stopped part way through and said I didn't have enough memory. Problem is it still used up my space so I am down to about 10 Mb of internal storage and am not sure how to delete the partial download. Can I get rid of it through my phone or through Kies. Sorry if this was asked already but I couldn't find anything in the forum using the search function.

You may have luck going into Settings | Apps | Market and clearing data and cache. Note: you may have to switch to the all tab to find Market.

Are you looking at internal storage or ram. Storage can be checked using Settings |Storage or Settings |Apps depending on your phone.

What doesn't show up, Where's My Water or the update? You wouldn't see the update in apps, just the original app. Also, is this through the Market or the Amazon App Store?

Yeah, I was hoping the update would show up there but your right it didn't. I deleted the App Where's My Water hoping it would also delete the updates with it but that didn't work either. I downloaded it through the Marketplace

Now that you have removed the app, can you reinstall it from the Market. If so, it would include the update. I am going to poke around your phone's forum to see if I can find any other suggestions.

Well if I reinstall the app. The corrupted update taking up the space would still be on my phone right. And I don't think I can reinstall it as I only have 20 Mb of space right now as uninstalling didn't delete the update. It's wierd because Where's My Water is installed on the SD card but I am getting these errors on the phones internal storage. I thought the update would just go to the SD card.

OK, just found some more information that has resolve this issue for others, not specifically Ace users. In addition to clearing data and cache for the Market, also clear data and cache for Download Manager and Downloads. Let me know if that helps.

Well I got the storage back. Earlier I had tried to clear the cache using stock recovery. Didn't seem to do much. Than I tried what you said which also didn't seem to work. But then when I went to try to fix it later the storage was back up to 40Mb. I deleted some apps and got to 50 and tried the 30 Mb download again but got the same internal memory error. I don't know why I am getting this error. The file downloaded but when it went to install i got the error. I was able to get rid of the used space though right aways this time.

Thanks again for the help.
