Partially Unable to connect to Internet.

Hello... I own an xperia x10. I can access the net on my phone through GPRS only on the default browser & Skyfire.

But i can't connect on any other app.
tried it on google goggles, shazam, timescape, Facebook app, Tweetdeck, etc. but i couldn't connect, EVER.
So has anyone else faced this prob ?
or any idea why is it happening.
or is it that these apps work only on
3G networks ??
 
One more thing. I'm unable buy apps due to invalid card thingie..

I checked it a million times, I know i entered all the details correctly & i even use the card to buy stuff in stores. but over here it keeps telling me that the card is invalid.

BTW, i'm talking about a DEBIT card. that's not a problem, is it ?? do i need a credit card only ??

Fwiw, I use my debit card for those types of transactions with no issues, so a credit card is not needed.

I suspect that your connections issues and the debit card rejection could be from the same cause, configuration. Run a slow, accurate check on all settings, reboot and try again, is what I'd do (and have done a few times ;)).

In order that the guys here can help you a bit more it would help if you could confirm what location you are in and what carrier you are with.

Have you had any success with wifi and connecting to the internet?

yes I've restored the device several times but no success. I recently updated to 2.1 but i still face the prob.
Everything works perfectly fine over wifi.
i get the prob only on gprs.
i am from India & I have a Vodafone subscription.
 
have you done the legit update? (i mean the official one from SE, upgrade from your original 1.6 vodafone branded firmware)
 
it's not a branded phone. in India x10 isn't available locked under any network, i can use any network's card in it Legally.
I didn't jailbreak it. And i updated to 2.1 using the pc companion.
