Help particular app won't install (Spotify) - a Galaxy-specific problem?

Hi

I can't install the Spotify app, even though I can install other apps. Is it possible that this is a Galaxy-specific problem? Have any Galaxy owners successfully downloaded this app?

Hi there,

I had no end of problems getting it installed via the Market ("download unsuccessful" all the time).

In the end I managed to find a direct link to the APK:

http://bit.ly/11xOTA

Copy this to your SD card and then install it. From there on, Spotify works brilliantly. Been playing with it all day :-)

All the best,

Chris

Thanks very much!

I'm afraid I'm a complete newbie: I take you mean the internal SD card? Also, where do I put it exactly, and how do I install it once it's there?

Also, are there any drawbacks to installing it this way? As a newbie, I normally like to do everything the official way!

Put it on the root of the memorycard and use something like ASTRO File Manager to find it and start the installation.

Note: Spotify has recognized the problem with "unsuccessful download", and officially released the .apk file here:

Installing Spotify Mobile for Android - Spotify

The drawback of not installing through Android Market is that you won't be notified automatically about new versions.

Beat me to it! Well put, TopDog :-)
